Get a Kegerator Beer Dispenser for Your Home!

Is it practical to buy a beer dispenser for home use? Does a keg dispenser store enough beer without taking up too much room? Does it really keep draft beer fresher? YES, YES, and YES!  If you want to SAVE MONEY and enjoy the convenience of having the FRESHEST DRAFT BEER right in your own home, you can do it with a beer dispenser... read on...

Consider the Shelf Life of Your Keg. The fresher the beer, the better it tastes. Beer in a pressurized and refrigerated keg beer dispenser can last 45-60 days. However, transit time and storage can use up 5-30 days, so most refrigerated kegs will remain fresh for about a month at your home. Note that CO2 should be used to keep your keg pressurized, otherwise, a keg could go bad in as little as 12 hours!

Kegs Store the Equivalent of Over 165 Beer Cans. A half barrel keg contains the same amount of beer as does 165 cans— try putting that many cans in your fridge or cooler for your next party! But space is not the only savings you get from a beer dispenser. Kegs are generally cleaned, refilled, and reused over and over again. While cans and bottles can be recycled and reused, this process is much more time and energy intensive than simply cleaning and refilling a keg. Did you know that the aluminum alone in the 165 cans weighs 5 pounds?!

Kegerators Save!
Do the Math — Keg Beer Costs Less Than Bottles. When you buy a kegerator you not only store large amounts of cool draft beer conveniently but also save over 50% as compared to buying the same volume of beer in bottles or cans. Drinking beer from the beer dispenser keg saves $40 or more per half barrel kegerator. At that rate, your kegerator pays for itself after the 10th keg! Take a look at the numbers:

A standard 1/2 gallon keg of Budweiser costs $94 or less. It contains 15.5 gallons of beer (1984 ounces). A suitcase of Budweiser contains 24 12- ounce cans and costs about $20. To get the same volume of beer from Budweiser suticases as from a keg, you would need to purchase about 7 suitcases for about $140. As you can plainly see by doing the math, the keg beer dispenser saves you over $40 per keg!

How to Achieve the Perfect Pour

beer dispenser
Enjoy Beer at Home with a Kegerator!
Pouring draft beer is an art, and a key part of the overall beer tasting experience. When serving your cold fresh draft beer:

  • Use a clean glass. A dirty glass containing oils, dirt or residuals from a previous beer, may inhibit head creation and taint flavors.
  • Hold your glass at a 45° angle. Pour the beer, targeting the middle of the slope of the glass. Don't be afraid to pour hard or add some air between the bottle and glass.
  • When beer fills up to the half-way point, bring the glass to a 90° angle and continue to pour in the middle of the glass. This will induce the perfect foam head. And remember, having a head on a beer is a good thing—it releases the beer’s aromatics and adds to the overall presentation. If you find your pouring style is causing too little head, try gradually adding distance between the bottle and the glass as you pour until you achieve the proper amount. An ideal head should be 1" to 1-1/2" thick.
With bottle-conditioned beers there may be a considerable amount of yeast in the bottle which alters the clarity and taste of your poured beer. This is considered the highlight of some beers and desired by many beer aficionados. However, if you do not prefer yeast in your poured beer, watch closely as you pour—being careful as not to include sediments and particles residing at the bottom of the container.

Beer has been brewed for thousands of years— from the ancient Egyptians through the Middle Ages and of course, modern times. Long ago, beer was actually safer to drink than plain water, thanks to the alcohol content. However, beer back then didn't necessarily taste all that great or stay fresh very long without refrigeration. A little technology (and electricity) goes a long way! If you enjoy fresh draft beer at home and want to save money over buying it in bottles or cans, you've come to the right site to learn about a beer dispenser, kegerators, and beer refrigerators. And if you want to give home brewing a try, the convenience and cost savings of buying a Beer Machine or making beer from a Mr. Beer kit is worth it. This website provides information, resources, a blog, and helpful links to help you make the right choices. Please drink responsibly and use a personal breathalyzer to be sure you're save to drive.
